stained glass - drey house
-
I was commissioned to create two window pieces for a small hexagonal home that was in the process of being constructed in a local ecovillage / ecocommunity. These pieces were a small triangular window next to the entrance and a hexagonal skylight to cap the structure.
I decided to use stained glass for these window pieces to create focal points in the small home and bring warm, colorful light inside. These would be my first stained glass works, but I was up for the challenge.
I learned the processes for stained glass window construction online through many informative videos and texts. The two processes I chose are that of copper foil and also of came / metal channels typical of most stained glass windows. Already with the knowledge of cutting glass and framing, I set to work on the designs.
